Tourette's — tic tracking

Tic tracking is easy to treat as a side feature. It shouldn't be — frequency is the clinical core of how severity is actually measured.

What this means for tracking: the app currently logs tic frequency; this survey points at a concrete next field — an optional trigger tag (stress, fatigue, sensory load, etc.) alongside each logged tic, since that pairing is what respondents said was actually missing.

Frequency as the core signal

Tic frequency is a core component of the Yale Global Tic Severity Scale, the standard clinical instrument for Tourette's — which is why it's the first thing tracked, not an afterthought.

People with tics specifically want trigger tracking, not just counts

A 2026 US national survey of adults with Tourette’s and other tic disorders (JMIR Formative Research) found 88.9% would likely use a digital tool built for tic management, and identified a clear, stated gap: existing tools don’t support tic and trigger monitoring together.

Common questions

Does the app track tic types, or just frequency?

Frequency is the primary field because it's the core YGTSS component, but the app also supports logging which tics occurred, so patterns over time are visible, not just a raw count.
