Perimenopause

Perimenopause is usually diagnosed by pattern, not a single lab value. That's the basis for what this app watches for.

Symptoms over lab tests

The UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence explicitly advises against relying on hormone blood tests to identify perimenopause in most women — symptoms and cycle changes are the real signal.

Cycle length as the key marker

The Menopause Society identifies cycle length varying by 7 or more days as a defining feature as perimenopause progresses — directly matching what the app tracks.

Common questions

Why doesn't the app ask for hormone test results?

Because the guideline it's built on — NICE — specifically advises against using them as the primary signal in most women; cycle-length variation and symptoms are more reliable day to day.
