Nobody tells you what postpartum actually involves

Pregnancy gets a countdown. Postpartum gets a shrug.

There's a small industry built around tracking pregnancy week by week. The weeks after birth get comparatively little — which is strange, because that period comes with its own real, trackable things worth paying attention to.

A real screening tool, not a mood guess

Little Greenhouse's postpartum mood check uses the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale — a validated 10-item screen, not an invented mood slider. A score of 10 or higher is a signal worth a conversation with a doctor or midwife, not a diagnosis on its own.

Nutrition that accounts for breastfeeding

The guidance baked in follows ACOG's own numbers — roughly 450–500 extra calories a day while breastfeeding, and fish two to three times a week, not avoided altogether.

Full sourcing, including the Greek-language validation of the EPDS screen, is on our postpartum research page.
